Growing up industry was all around him and this proved to be the foundation of his future works, from shipyards to docks to steel works, all incorporated into his visual language and the familiarity of his childhood.
The artist showed promising signs of his creativity from an early age and this then led to his training in both his home town Hartlepool and Leicester. His understanding and passion of his craft enabled him to tutor the Marine Society.
This saw an exciting move in his career as his tutoring for this society meant that he was able to broaden his horizons and travel worldwide pursuing his love of art whilst teaching on board merchant ships, tutoring drawing and painting.
His career then changed paths and Knox became a lecturer in Norwich. Now retrieving among the Scottish boarders, Peter Knox has turned his attention to becoming a full time professional artist and has since had hugely popular exhibitions with the demand for his work ever popular his collections can also be viewed in The National Maritime Museum.
