Citing Sherlock Holmes' creator, Arthur Conan Doyle as a creative influence in his career to date, much-loved contemporary fine artist, Smith has sampled the revered author's lead fictional character here, in his latest art sculpture, entitled 'Edison's Sherlock Sidewinder'.
As part of his brand new 'Bloodlines' collection revealed this autumn, Smith has delved into - and successfully borrowed from - some of the his favourite wordsmiths' most famous titles, including along with Conan Doyle the equally esteemed likes of Dahl and Carroll.
The larger-than-life characters and graphically-immense situations in which they habitually find themselves during the course of their tales has been illustratively explored and expanded on in Smith's somewhat leftfield re-imagining and visual interpretation.
