A Brave Heart by Stephen Ford

A wonderful modern take on the great ape and part of a pair of New artworks 'printed on wood' canvas, for the 'Stephen Ford - Debut Releases.'

Triangular and jagged shapes make up nearly all of the animal's face & body, with a smooth almost gunmetal grey canvas background. The effect Stephen has painted is like an old TV, just about to be tuned in to the plight of these animals.

The ape itself reminds me of that featured in artist Yuvi's - 'Urban Jungle I', a majestic animal within all the graffiti & chaos.

There is a certain grace and nobility captured in 'A Brave Heart,' a reflective limited edition of our close cousin, the Silverback Gorilla.

Immensely powerful and yet, like many species, just a hair away from extinction; a reminder that it is our collective responsibility to protect the earth and all her species.
