The Ford Pre-Force series where uprated and modernised versions of its predecessor, the Ford 5000 range.
The Ford 5000 was a famous (often painted blue & white) tractor created by Ford and made from 1964-75; the US version of the 'Ford 5000' was named the 'Fordson Major' and had some small differences.
A moderate seller in Europe, the tractor sold very well in the United Kingdom and was the replacement for the popular worldwide seller the 'Fordson Major'. In fact, until 2005 it remained one of the best selling tractors in the UK, despite the last one being made 30 years previous!
The reason for this was its middle size, which meant almost all British farmers could employ a use for it.
