Truffle by Steven Townsend

This is Steven’s latest black labrador limited edition, the previous was the amazing 'Loyalty.'

'Truffle' is the first bitch that Steven has ever painted, she is 10 years old and a real character, but more importantly she looks like everyone’s idea of a black Labrador!

Truffle lives with her owner Karen Powell in Gosforth in the beautiful Lake District, UK. In her younger days, Truffle was a working dog but now is a pet and the only dog to live in Karen’s home.

The dog is pictured on its own backdoor, the beautiful banks of Wast Water. It is quite a while since Steven painted a dog within a landscape setting and it is proving to be another: ‘Master Of The Hills’ (another of Steve’s classic dog paintings) as far as Steven’s collectors are concerned.

The backdrop for this dog (named 'Truffle') & landscape artwork is ‘Wast Water’ in Wasdale, located in the beautiful Lake District National Park, England.

This stunning original painting depicts a black labrador bitch in a lush natural environment and of course this a real scene. Steven would have photographed Truffle here, and later started painting in his studio from his own photos!

Steven has lovingly left off no detail from both the dog and the scenery, as usual spending countless hours (and I am sure weeks & months) to perfect his photorealistic style.

A special gum metal frame has been selected to complement this painting and I am sure you will agree, the painting was breathtaking!

This original artwork has had no previous owner and is waiting for a good home!
