Contemporary artist McAlpine-Miller approaches his art in the most unconventional of ways, by firstly looking at objects through glass; this affords him a greater understanding of how colour is affected when viewed through a transparent object.
Stuart says this unusual practice furnishes him with an increased perception of how tonal change will either compliment or compromise, as they pass through solid matter.
