The artistic pair known as The Connor Brothers have mixed fact with fiction (artistically and in their own backstory) with 1950s inspired pin-up models and laconic statements emblazed onto canvas, they have enjoyed blending the edges of reality & fiction.
This is seen most strongly in their very own backstory, claiming to be two Americans originally brought up in the cult called 'The Family,' their work entered the art market in 2011 and they started exhibiting in 2013. A year and half later and after considerable success & fanfare, the pair announced they were in fact British art dealers Mike Snelle and James Golding! and their success continued unabated.
Immediately their paintings & limited editions bring to mind the recent artworks of established artist such as Linda Charles, Glen Orbik (1963 - 2015) and newly published Mr Controversial. It is clear that this style of art is of the moment in the British art world.
Of note, they have devoted considerable effort to raising funds for a plethora of charities including the Refugee Response Foundation (UK) & mental health ones. They are proud to be ambassadors for the UK mental health charity MIND, as stated to their Instagram and have been patrons for over 5 years.
Since 2014 they have exhibited in New York, Aspen and the United Kingdom, having established a working relationship with the Maddox Gallery (London), as well as appearing in art fairs in London (London Art Fair), USA (Art Miami) and Hong Kong.
In what is quite a coup for them, Demontfort Fine Art publishers have signed a distribution deal with the pair in June 2021 to feature their limited edition and original art in the UK; they have released six fantastic looking limited editions nationwide to mark the occasion, monikered as simply 'The New Collection' as well as: 'The Connor Brothers - Truth Is Stranger Than Fiction' Collection.
