Five ladies drinking wine are ready for the masquerade ball to start, with an array of cocktail dresses, masks and feathers in their hair or draped over their shoulders - Todd loves painting feather bowers!

Todd seems to like these 'line up' style paintings with five ladies often being his preference, such as 'Beach Blankets' and 'Devils On The Wine' (both from 2023), allowing him to develop five different female personas.

The title 'Angels Sell Their Wings' suggests there will be some fun and frolics during the course of the evening! I am particular drawn to the women's suggestive gazes which appear to be giving one another ‘the eye,’ as though they all have a secret plan for the evening or are vying for 'top spot' at the ball!

An 'early' limited edition from Todd White, from the days when a company called Aurora Fine Art distributed his work to UK galleries. It also appears that some version was released in North America as well, likely at the same time.

I hadn’t previously seen this limited edition, which reflects its rarity on the market! The image only size was 22.4 x 18.1 inches.
